What a wonderful turn out to our K-5 district-wide Family Math Night! Special thanks to all of the teachers and community partners that helped tonight! CONGRATULATIONS to Seniors Ellie Zeller and Justin Heilman for being named the All-Heart Athletes of the Month for February. Both Ellie and Justin were nominated and voted on by their peers and community for the many great characteristics they display on and off the field of play. These two give everything they have to their team and their school and exemplify all of the attributes that make them the All-Heart Athletes of the Month and an important part of Ram Nation. Here is a summary of what people had to say about Ellie and Justin: Ellie is a hard worker for the Lady Rams. She is a four-time all-league swimmer, and also earned herself a trip to state this year. She has the school record in the 500 freestyle and is also part of the team that owns the 400 freestyle relay record. Ellie’s achievements are great examples that hard work doesn’t go unrewarded, and it’s valuable for younger swimmers to see this and follow in the same footsteps. Her hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and the Lady Rams will be missing a big part of their team in the following years as Ellie graduates high school. Being a three sport athlete, Justin Heilman is ambitious in football, basketball, and baseball. He always seeks to win, and knows his role well in all of these sports. He is a quarterback, a point guard, and a pitcher, so there’s no doubt that Justin is a natural born leader. He knows what is required for victory, and he is selfless in doing what is needed for the team. Justin is a true team player, no matter the sport, and the Rams will be missing a well rounded, ambitious athlete in the years to come. Both Justin and Ellie are hard workers in many things, including their work in the classrooms. They were both selected by teachers because of their athletic and academic endeavors. Congratulations again to Ellie and Justin for being selected as our February All-Heart athletes of the month. We thank you both for being great examples of hard work and how such endeavors don’t go unrewarded. We thank you both for your ambition and hard work put towards Upper Sandusky Athletics. Thank you, Ellie and Justin, for representing USHS positively throughout your athletic careers! RAM PRIDE!

USHS ATHLETIC EVENT UPDATE Due to the cold temps and field conditions, tonight's JV/Varsity Softball scrimmage at Lexington has been CANCELLED. We are currently looking for a reschedule date. Additionally, tonight's Varsity Baseball scrimmage against Plymouth has been CANCELLED as well. This scrimmage will now take place tomorrow (3/21) at 5:00 PM at USHS. RAM PRIDE!

Round 4 of March Positive Office Referrals. The following students showcased one of the characteristics of our Portrait of a Ram district initiative. Lacie Applegate and Cheyenne Call showed the ability to Adapt and Grow by volunteering to sell St. Patrick's Day bracelets during all three lunches to help the students from the Learning Center.

Does your student have a charge on their school meal account? Meal charges are at an all time high! Please check your email for a notification or call your student's school. All meal charges must be paid in a timely manner! Free/Reduced Price Meal Applications are available at any school office.

Round 3 of March Positive Office Referrals. The following students were recognized by a staff member for showing one of the characteristics from our Portrait of a Ram. Alexus Ealy showed Integrity by stopping what she was doing and helping another student to the office. Collin Danner showed Responsibility by setting an example for his friends in following school rules. Mary Grace King also showed Responsibility by showing a new student where to go in the building.

Attention High School parents, staff & student drivers! We now have construction equipment sitting in our West parking lot. They will be digging in the area of our water erosion area to determine what is causing it and how to remedy it. Please give this equipment a wide berth when parking to allow it enough room to do its job. Tomorrow may be a good day to park in the North lot instead. {{hint, hint}}

More March Positive Office Referrals. The following students received a positive office referral for showcasing one or more of our Portrait of a Ram characteristics. Waylon Swartz showed Integrity and Responsibility by expressing concern for a fellow classmates safety. Rylee Cox showed the ability to Adapt and Grow by being a positive leader and volunteer in the classroom.

USHS spring sports season is here! Several teams begin their preseason schedules this week and we are hoping for good weather to help us start the season off right. Lots of fun things were happening in our ELA classes this week at USMS. Here are just a few things that our students have been up to. 6th graders were analyzing different types of poetry. 7th graders have been analyzing literature. 8th graders were picking their favorite book in a March madness bracket and also learning about Greek myths!

ATTENTION STAFF & STUDENTS!! Due to a water issue that has caused damage to the pavement of the middle entrance to the west parking lot (near the softball field) making it unsafe to drive on, it will be closed until further notice. You will either need to park in the North lot (by the gym) or VERY CAREFULLY enter/exit using the entrance near Houpt Drive. We hope to have this corrected soon.  This may cause slow downs in the morning drop off and afternoon pick up lines.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while we correct this matter.  

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR HIGH SCHOOL DRIVERS AND/OR PARENTS!! We are experiencing a water erosion issue located in the middle entrance to the West parking lot. This has caused the pavement to become unstable and unsafe to drive on. Beginning immediately, this middle entrance will be closed until we can correct the situation. Please use extreme caution using the South entrance (near Houpt Drive) to enter/exit the West lot. We hope to have this corrected as quickly as possible. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

Have a hankering to teach Math? We are hiring!!

The end of the year is in sight, the temperatures are warming up and the student council has decided to sponsor a spring dance on Saturday, March 22nd from 7-9pm. This dance is casual (no formal dresses or suits - please follow school dress code) and is meant for the students to just come in and have some fun and pizza. Tickets will go on sale ($5.00 each) Monday, March 17th before and after school in the office and during lunch until Friday, March 21st at the end of the school day. Each ticket includes admittance to the dance, one slice of pizza, a drink and snacks. Additional pizza will be for sale during the dance. One of our own students will be D.J.ing the event!!! We will also be having cornhole and additional games in the courtyard. This event is only for USHS active students. So come have some fun!!!
